Biography
Shannon Sim Hui En is a Singaporean artist, currently studying Fine Arts at LASALLE College of the Arts. Her body of work explores a wide spectrum of psychological
distresses, inspired by a fervent passion for the nature of emotions. She studies how the environment affects people’s behaviour and emotional states. Through illustrating
painting, she hopes to raise awareness of Singapore’s prominent issues, such as gender stereotypes and mental health stigmas. Shannon represented her class that emerged in the top 3 in the Chinese New Year Competition in 2015 and 2016, followed by 3 additional events: Hari Raya Design & Decoration with Cultural Exposure for the Library Council in 2016; National Day Design & Decoration Competition for Library Council in 2016; and Student Attachment Programme at the Nanyang Polytechnic School of Interactive Design & Digital Media in 2017.
